1. Objective and responsibility
This data protection declaration clarifies how, to what extent and for what purpose we process your data. It only concerns data collected within our online offer (hereinafter also referred to as “website”). The privacy policy applies regardless of the domains, systems, platforms and devices (e.g. desktop or mobile) used on which you access our website.
The provider of the online offer is Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Kathrin Aste, representing the University Innsbruck, Departement for Experimental Architecture ./studio3, Technikerstrasse 21, 6020 Innsbruck (hereinafter referred to as “provider”, “we” or “us”). The term “user” includes all customers and visitors of our online offer.

2. Basic information on data processing
We process personal data of users in compliance with the relevant data protection provisions in accordance with the principles of data economy and data avoidance. This means that user data is only processed if we have legal permission to do so. This applies in particular

• if it is necessary data, so that we can fulfill our contractual services or

• if it is required by law or

• if you have consented to the data processing.

We take organizational, contractual and technical security measures in accordance with the state of the art to ensure that the provisions of data protection laws are complied with. In this way, we protect the data processed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorized persons .
If content, tools or other means from other providers (hereinafter collectively referred to as “third party providers”) are used within the scope of this data protection declaration, it is to be assumed that data is transferred to the countries in which the third party providers are based. The transfer of data to third countries takes place either on the basis of a legal permission, the consent of the users or special contractual clauses that guarantee a legally required security of the data.

3. Processing of personal data
The personal data are processed, in addition to the use expressly mentioned in this Privacy Policy, for the following purposes on the basis of legal permission or consent of the users*:
Providing, executing, maintaining, optimizing and securing our service and user performance.
If you contact us via contact form or e-mail, we store this data in order to process your request and respond to you.
Personal data is deleted as soon as it has fulfilled its intended purpose and there is no obligation to retain it.

4. Collection of access data
We collect data about each access to the server on which this service is located (so-called server log files). The access data includes the name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, operating system of the person using the service, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and requesting provider.
In accordance with legal requirements, we use the collected data only for statistical analysis for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of our online offer. We use the log data without assigning it to a natural person (user). We do not create a profile of the user. However, we reserve the right to check the log data retrospectively if there is a justified suspicion of unlawful use based on concrete indications.

5. Cookies and coverage measurement
Cookies are pieces of information that are transferred from our web server or from third-party web servers to the users’ web browsers and stored there for later retrieval. Users are informed about the use of cookies in the context of pseudonymous reach measurement within the scope of this data protection declaration.
As a user, you can also use our online offer without cookies. To ensure that cookies are NOT stored on your computer, deactivate the corresponding setting in your browsers. In your browser system settings, you can also delete previously stored cookies. Please note that the exclusion of cookies can lead to functional restrictions of this online offer.

6. Facebook social plug-ins
Our online offer uses social plug-ins (“plug-ins”) of the social network facebook.com. This is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand -Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. The plug-ins are recognizable by one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on a blue tile, the terms “Like”, “Like” or a “thumbs up” sign) or are marked with the addition “Facebook Social Plugin”. If you as a user* call up a function of our online offer that contains such a plug-in, a direct connection to the Facebook servers is established. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Facebook directly to your device and integrated by it into the online offer. In the process, a usage profile of you can be created from the processed data. We have no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plug-in and therefore inform users according to our level of knowledge.
If you are logged in to Facebook as a user, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account. If users interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the Like button or commenting, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your device to Facebook and stored there. If you are not a Facebook member, Facebook can still obtain and store your IP address. According to Facebook, only an anonymized IP address is stored in Germany.

If you are a Facebook member but do not want Facebook to collect and link data about you via our website, you must log out of Facebook and delete your cookies before using our online offer.
Further settings and objections to the use of data for advertising purposes are possible within the Facebook profile settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.
You can also object to the use of your data for advertising purposes via the EU site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/oder via the U.S. site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. The settings are platform-independent, i.e. they are applied to all devices such as desktop computers and mobile devices.

7. Integration of third party services and content
It may happen that content or services of third-party providers are integrated within our online offer, for example city maps or fonts from other websites. The integration of third-party content always requires that the third-party provider is aware of the IP address of the user, as without the IP address they cannot send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is thus required for the display of this content. Furthermore, the third-party providers can set their own cookies and process the users’ data for their own purposes. In doing so, usage profiles of the users can be created from this processed data. We will use this content as sparingly as possible and in a way that avoids data loss, and we will select reliable third-party providers with regard to data security.

8. Rights of users and deletion of data
As a user, you have the right to request information free of charge about the personal data that we have stored about you.
In addition, you have the right

• that incorrect data about you will be corrected

• that you can revoke your consent

• that you can have your personal data blocked and deleted

• that you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you assume that your data is being processed unlawfully.

We delete data that we have stored about you as soon as it is no longer required for the actual, previously stated purpose. The prerequisite for deletion is that there is no legal obligation to retain the data.
9. Changes to the data protection declaration (DSE)
We reserve the right to change this data protection declaration, e.g. in order to adapt it to changed legal situations, changes to the service or data processing. However, this only applies with regard to statements on data processing.
For changes to the DSE that affect regulations of the contractual relationship between us and you, we need your consent.
